NYTimes.com is seeking five talented, ambitious candidates for our paid SUMMER ONLINE MARKETING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM. These individuals will be given an opportunity to learn about interactive marketing at a leading media company.

Competitive Analysis and Product Marketing Support
The qualified candidate will assist the NYTimes.com Marketing team in conducting a competitive analysis of leading online web sites in the Jobs and Real Estate verticals. This person will investigate and report on competitors? internal and external marketing strategies and creative concepts. He/she will identify the various ad placements, ad positioning and ad technologies utilized by our competitors. Based on this analysis, the intern will recommend online and offline Marketing opportunities for NYTimes.com that will contribute to the growth of site readership and interactivity. He/she will also assist in the development of the mobile marketing strategy for NYTimes.com. He/she will also assist in the ongoing reporting and analysis of marketing programs for Jobs, Real Estate and Mobile.

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions to research challenges
  • Marketing, Research or Business majors/Graduate students preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Familiarity with the Internet
  • Previous relevant experience/internships a plus
  • 3.0 GPA or above
  • Team player with a strong work ethic
